Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga is set to miss a month of action with a mild hamstring injury, according to a report.
Vamos Mi Sevilla report that after missing Sevilla’s last friendly due to discomfort, Albert Sambi Lokonga has now suffered a mild hamstring injury.
Lokonga is reportedly set to miss the next month of action, including the start of the Spanish league campaign, which kicks off on August 16th.
The midfielder joined Sevilla on loan earlier in the summer with a £10m option to buy at the end of the season.
Given the tumultuous nature of Lokonga’s last few seasons, the hope from all parties is that this campaign goes well for him.
A strong 2024/25 would be good for the player and his new club, and it would net Arsenal a decent fee next summer. But this early injury has dented those hopes.
Sevilla play a couple of Premier League friendlies against Fulham and Liverpool over the next week and a half, but it looks like Lokonga will be unavailable for those games.
The Spanish side then face Las Palmas, Villarreal, and Mallorca in their opening three games of the league season.
