Leicester City and West Ham United have both held initial talks for Reiss Nelson, but Arsenal are yet to receive bids from either club.

Ryan Taylor reports for the Mirror that Arsenal would ideally like to sign a winger this summer, but a deal could be dependent on Reiss Nelson’s future.

Arsenal are reportedly open to a sale at the right price, and Taylor claims that both Leicester City and West Ham United have held initial talks for Nelson.

But as it stands, the Gunners are yet to receive any bids from either club.

The suggestion from reports so far has been that neither Leicester nor West Ham are willing to reach Arsenal’s asking price.

Fabrizio Romano had reported that Leicester were hoping for a loan with an obligation to buy, whilst The West Ham Way claimed that the player is too expensive for the Hammers right now.

West Ham’s interest may also have dulled in the wake of their agreement to sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.

David Ornstein initially reported that the Gunners were looking for a fee of around £20m including add-ons to sell Nelson this summer.

Sam Dean then wrote that it is believed the player could be available for a fee in the region of £15m to £20m.

Nelson still has a deal with Arsenal to 2027, with an option to extend to 2028, so there’s no pressure on Arsenal to sell.

The winger is also continuing to play regularly with Mikel Arteta’s side in pre-season, at the very least suggesting a move isn’t imminent.

Yet the 24-year-old only played 639 minutes for the Arsenal first team in 2023/24, and an eventual transfer may be the best thing for him.
