Despite transfer interest from a number of clubs and his opening-day exclusion from Mikel Arteta’s squad, Jakub Kiwior is set to remain with Arsenal this summer.

Throughout the summer, there had been rumours that Jakub Kiwior could be on the way out, with Serie A clubs particularly interested in his signature.

Those rumours came to a head on the opening day of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign, when the defender was left out of Mikel Arteta’s squad to face Wolves. But the story has now taken a twist, with Kiwior set to stay in north London.

Tomasz Wlodarczyk of Polish outlet Meczyki initially broke the news on Tuesday that Kiwior was “99%” likely to stay at Arsenal, with the Gunners deciding not to give the green light to his exit.

Wlodarczyk claims Kiwior has plenty of interest from around Europe, but most of the offers are only for loans, and everything indicates Arsenal will reject them.

James Benge of CBS Sports then confirmed that Kiwior is expecting to stay at Arsenal, with no deal lined up. Fabrizio Romano reported that the Gunners had informed Kiwior and his camp that he’s not for sale this summer.

Romano added that Villarreal and Bologna were among the teams interested in a loan move this summer.

Santi Aouna of FootMercato reported that as well as Villarreal and Bologna, Fiorentina had also approached Arsenal with an offer, but all bids had been turned down.

Kiwior returned to the Arsenal squad against Aston Villa over the weekend, featuring on the bench.

The 24-year-old made 30 appearances for the Gunners in 2023/24, but he looks to be in a battle for minutes this season with Jurrien Timber returning to fitness, Riccardo Calafiori joining the club, and Kieran Tierney returning from his loan.
