Arsenal women are reportedly set to announce the signing of Swedish attacking midfielder Rosa Kafaji from BK Häcken.

According to Göteborgs-Posten, the 21-year-old is currently in England finalising the deal and is expected to be officially presented as a Gunner on Monday, pending any unforeseen complications.

Further, it seems the Emirates Stadium is closed to tours this afternoon with Kafaji’s photoshoot scheduled.

Kafaji, who joined Häcken from AIK in 2022, has quickly established herself as one of the best players in the Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top women’s football league. Her impressive performances have earned her a place in the Swedish national team, where she is seen as a potential heir to star player Kosovare Asllani.

Kafaji’s success has not gone unnoticed, with several top European clubs reportedly vying for her signature. Chelsea, Barcelona, and Lyon have all shown interest in the young midfielder. However, Arsenal, under the leadership of Swedish coach Jonas Eidevall, appears to have won the race for her services.

The Gunners have been actively strengthening their squad this summer, having already added Spanish attacking midfielder Mariona Caldentey and Dutch international goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar. With 28 goals and six assists in 49 games, the addition of Kafaji would further strengthen their attacking options and provide much-needed depth in midfield.

Kafaji’s arrival is expected to add creativity and goal-scoring threat to Arsenal‘s midfield. Her ability to play in various attacking roles, combined with her technical skills and vision, make her a valuable asset for the Gunners. Her experience in the Champions League with Häcken also demonstrates her ability to perform at the highest level.
