Declan Rice was withdrawn early during Arsenal’s opening Premier League win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, with the player requiring treatment before his substitution.

Yet it seems the problem was nothing serious, with Rice pictured taking part in a training session with his Arsenal teammates this week.

Whilst other Arsenal injury absentees like Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu weren’t pictured, Rice was seemingly able to take part as normal.

Mikel Arteta had already played down suggestions of any serious setback for the midfielder after the game, saying: “He was cramping a bit.

“He hasn’t had the longest pre-season ever, but he’s really trying and he put in an unbelievable performance again today.”

As for Arsenal’s other injured players, Tomiyasu has been ruled out for “a few weeks”, and Arteta confirmed ahead of the Wolves game that Kieran Tierney’s hamstring injury is set to keep him out for a few weeks as well.

That injury is seemingly holding Tierney back from a transfer, with Arteta responding to a question on a potential exit by saying: “He needs to focus on recovering in the best possible way, it’s been a tough time for him again with the last injury.

“We have to try to support him and make sure he gets back fit.”

As for Vieira, Arteta said he “looked better” on Friday, and that he was close to making the squad against Wolves. It seems he won’t be out for long, though there’s still no sign of him in training just yet.
