Crystal Palace has emerged as a potential destination for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, as the 25-year-old seeks regular first-team football.

While Bournemouth was initially interested, their recent acquisition of Evanilson from Porto has seemingly ended their pursuit of Nketiah.

Nketiah’s desire to leave Arsenal stems from his limited playing time last season, despite having a contract that runs until 2027. He made 37 appearances for the Gunners but only started 13 of those matches.

Marseille also showed strong interest in Nketiah earlier this summer, but the two clubs failed to agree on terms despite two bids from the Ligue 1 side. Arsenal reportedly wanted a loan with an obligation to buy for around €30m, but Marseille ultimately opted to sign Elye Wahi for €25m instead.

Bournemouth, who were looking for a replacement for Dominic Solanke after his move to Tottenham, had identified Nketiah as a potential target. Reports suggested they were prepared to meet Arsenal’s asking price. However, with the confirmation of Evanilson’s arrival, it seems Bournemouth’s interest in Nketiah has cooled if it is not dead completely.

Crystal Palace, under the management of Oliver Glasner, are actively seeking a new striker and have enquired about Nketiah’s availability. The Eagles are reportedly willing to offer Nketiah the regular playing time he craves but will they meet Arsenal’s valuation?

With the Premier League season starting on Friday night, Nketiah’s future remains uncertain. While he has featured regularly in Arsenal’s pre-season matches, it’s clear that he is down the pecking order at the Emirates. A move to Crystal Palace could offer him a fresh start and the chance to prove his worth as a starting striker.
