Arsenal are showing an interest in a late deal for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, though they face competition from Saudi Arabia.
Sami Mokbel reports for the Daily Mail that Arsenal are exploring a last-minute deal for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, looking to bring in the winger before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Mokbel writes that Mikel Arteta is keen to sign a forward before the deadline, and Coman could leave Bayern this week amid interest from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Coman’s availability has reportedly alerted Arsenal to the situation, though the cost of the deal could potential prove problematic. Al-Hilal are likely to be able to dwarf Arsenal’s financial offer.
The Gunners would have to rely on the appeal of Premier League and Champions League football for the 28-year-old.
Coman has had a long and successful career with Bayern, spending nine full seasons with the German club and winning eight Bundesliga titles, among a number of other trophies.
The winger was a regular in the team until last season, when a couple of injuries limited his minutes. He scored five goals and assisted three in just over 1,700 minutes over the course of the campaign.
Coman has dropped out of the starting lineup for Bayern this season, scoring once in two appearances off the bench, and a move now seems likely. It’s just whether that move is to Arsenal or Al-Hilal.
