Arsenal could yet make four more first-team sales this summer, with transfer deadline day three-and-a-half weeks away.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that in addition to the transfer saga surrounding Eddie Nketiah, fellow Englishmen Reiss Nelson and Aaron Ramsdale are expected to be allowed to leave before the end of the summer window.

With Riccardo Calafiori joining the club, McNicholas adds that Arsenal may also sell a defender.

If all goes to plan, that would mean four more senior players departing this summer, potentially bringing the total to 10 following the recent exits of Emile Smith Rowe, Mohamed Elneny, Arthur Okonkwo, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, and Cedric Soares.

On Ramsdale specifically, Alex Crook reports for talkSPORT that the goalkeeper is high on the shortlists of Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Southampton.

Wolves are also interested in Sam Johnstone, and if they sign either goalkeeper it would be to replace Jose Sa.

As for Nketiah, the striker remains at the centre of a transfer saga involving Ligue 1 side Marseille. The Gunners have received three bids from the French club so far, turning all of them down.

Marseille initially made two bids in the region of €20m (£17.2m), with David Ornstein reporting that though the value of the second bid wasn’t too dissimilar to the first, the formula of the deal was more acceptable to Arsenal.

Yet the valuation remained an issue, and Fabrizio Romano then reported that Marseille had returned with a third bid of €27m (£23.2m). Once again, Arsenal turned it down.

Nketiah has reportedly already agreed a five-year contract with Marseille, and he’s keen to join Roberto De Zerbi’s team. But with Arsenal sticking to their £30m valuation, there’s still work to do, and a real risk that Marseille walk away.
