Nuno Tavares has been pictured arriving at Lazio’s training camp as he completes his summer transfer from Arsenal.

Nuno Tavares is set to officially complete a transfer from Arsenal to Lazio, joining on an initial loan deal but with an obligation to buy next summer.

The defender has now arrived at Lazio’s training camp in Italy, as Auronzo di Cadore, where the rest of the squad have been undertaking pre-season preparations for the last four days.

Gianluca Di Marzio shared an image (above) of the player arriving at the camp on Sunday morning.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Saturday that Tavares had officially signed his contract with Lazio, with Arsenal having approved all the documentation the previous day.

After Tavares’ year-long loan, the mandatory purchase option will see him move onto a contract with the Serie A club lasting until June 2029.

Romano previously reported that the purchase clause fee has been set at €9m (£7.6m), with Dharmesh Sheth writing for Sky Sports that the sell-on clause in the deal is believed to be 20% of a future sale.

Tavares made 12 appearances for Forest over the course of the 2023/24 season, with eight in the Premier League and four in the FA Cup.

He’ll hope his eventual permanent transfer will give him some more regularity in the starting lineup for Lazio.
