Marseille are yet to make significant progress on a deal to sign Eddie Nketiah, but the player is keen and Arsenal have set their price, according to a report.

French outlet La Provence report that Marseille are actively trying to find a replacement for departing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and they’re looking at Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as a possible option.

The player’s camp reportedly insists that no major progress on a deal has taken place, but Nketiah is receptive to Marseille’s interest.

As for Arsenal’s asking price, the Gunners reportedly want more than €20m (£16.8m) for a sale.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Marseille have their sights set on Nketiah this summer, and they want to add him to their forward line for next season.

Marseille have also been linked with Wolves’ Hee-chan Hwang, with the Premier League club rejecting an initial offer.

But Santi Aouna reports that despite Marseille’s interest in Hwang, discussions are still ongoing with Nketiah.

With Aubameyang leaving Marseille, the club are evidently keen to ensure they replace his goal threat. Signing Nketiah could be a good way to do that, but at this stage it seems a potential deal is still in the early stages.
