Sky Sports News’ Melissa Reddy reports that Reiss Nelson has several suitors in the summer transfer market, including Leicester City, but Arsenal are yet to receive a significant proposal for his services.

Fabrizio Romano broke the news last week that Leicester had opened talks with Arsenal for Nelson, hoping for a loan with an obligation to buy.

Romano reported that the two clubs were in talks over the finances, and Leicester were confident they could persuade Nelson if they reach a deal with Arsenal. But almost a week later, they’re yet to place a bid.

Nelson had also previously been linked with West Ham United, but The West Ham Way have suggested that the player is too expensive for the Hammers right now.

In terms of that asking price from Arsenal, David Ornstein initially reported that the Gunners were looking for a fee of around £20m including add-ons to sell this summer.

Sam Dean then wrote that it is believed Nelson could be available for a fee in the region of £15m to £20m.

Nelson still has a deal with Arsenal to 2027, with an option to extend to 2028, so there’s no pressure on Arsenal to sell.

The winger is also continuing to play regularly with Mikel Arteta’s side in pre-season, at the very least suggesting a move isn’t imminent.

Yet the 24-year-old only played 639 minutes for the Arsenal first team in 2023/24, and an eventual transfer may be the best thing for him.
