Olympique de Marseille have held initial discussions with Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as they consider a summer move, according to a report.
Santi Aouna reports for Foot Mercato that Marseille have taken the first steps towards a potential move for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.
Marseille have already opened initial talks with the player, who is reportedly interested in the transfer. The move is still in the early stages right now, but early contact has been positive.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Arsenal were yet to decide on a final price tag for Nketiah, but that they were expected to consider proposals.
The striker won’t be cheap, but there’s no specific valuation on his head right now.
The Italian journalist added that there’s interest in Nketiah from clubs in England, and that the striker market was expected to get moving after Euro 2024.
James McNicholas had written for The Athletic that Nketiah was one of a few homegrown Arsenal players contemplating their futures.
Crystal Palace reportedly admire the striker, though it remains to be seen if they’re willing or able to make an offer that Arsenal would accept.
Nketiah played 1,416 minutes for the Arsenal first team in 2023/24 across 37 appearances. He scored six goals and assisted three for a goal contribution every 157 minutes.
