Scout Appreciation report that Arsenal’s u16s played a friendly against Watford at their training ground on Thursday, with trialist Coran Madden of Cliftonville FC featuring in the contest.

Madden reportedly played as an attacking midfielder/left winger, and he scored a header in the opening five minutes of the game. The match finished 4-1 to the young Gunners.

Cliftonville had previously confirmed that Madden would spend this week on trial with Arsenal.

Simon Collings writes for The Standard that Madden has already had trials at Manchester City and Manchester United, and he’s considered one of the brightest prospects in Northern Ireland.

Madden is a Northern Ireland u15 international, and he appears to be on the radar of most of the top Premier League clubs.

The youngster scored and assisted in a game for the Manchester United u16s during his trial with them, and he’s now got a goal for the Arsenal u16s as well.

The 15-year-old is one of a couple of UK teenagers to have a trial with Arsenal this month, with St. Johnstone’s Callan Hamill playing in a youth friendly and visiting the Emirates Stadium last week.
