Bromley FC confirmed on Friday that they’ve signed former Arsenal youngster Taylor Foran. The centre-back had spent 13 years with the Gunners playing for the academy, joining the club when he was just seven.

“Hi Bromley fans, [I’m] buzzing to have signed here, and I can’t wait to get out on this beautiful pitch in front of you all,” Foran said in a video after the move was announced.

Foran was one of 24 players released by Arsenal this summer at the end of their contracts, so he was able to move to Bromley as a free agent.

Following the news that he’d been released, Foran sent a message to Arsenal and the fans.

“Dear gunners, I’ve been at Arsenal since I was 7 years old, as an Arsenal fan it was every kid’s dream,” Foran wrote on Instagram.

“Arsenal have helped me with my development for 13 years, I’ve enjoyed every minute but with change comes progress and with progress comes change. It’s time for me to move on from Arsenal , I’m so ready to take on the challenge of men’s first team football.

“Thank you to all the coaches, staff and my team mates at Arsenal who have helped me get this far. ‘North London Forever’”

Foran is now returning to League Two with promoted Bromley, having spent time in the division on loan with Hartlepool in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, making 11 appearances.

After that loan spell, Foran returned to the Arsenal u21s and played 16 times for the Gunners in 2023/24. He’ll now get the chance to play senior football on a more permanent basis.

Arsenal also sent Alex Kirk and Kido Taylor-Hart on loan to Bromley last season, so the newly-promoted club are getting a lot of use out of the Gunners’ academy system.
