John Griffiths has named his 20-player squad for the upcoming u-19 tournament that will take place in Lithuania between July 14th and 27th.

There are five Arsenal players selected: defender Katie Reid, playmaker Maddie Earl, wingers Freya Godfrey and Vivienne Lia, striker Michelle Agyemang.

England are placed in Group A with France, Serbia and host Lithuania. They are expected to reach the semi-finals.

It is interesting to note that there is only player in that squad who was a regular in the Barclays WSL last season: Chelsea’s Brooke Aspin who spent the season on loan at Bristol who played 1499 minutes.

One player was semi regular: Mia Enderby played 866 minutes for Liverpool. Georgia Mullet played 289 minutes for Aston Villa. Evie Rabjohn played 27 minutes for United.

The Arsenal youngsters also had limited first team minutes: Vivienne Lia played nine minutes, Michelle Agyemang five minutes, Katie Reid four minutes. Freya Godfrey spent the season on loan in the Championship and Maddy Earl played Academy u-21 football only.
