The FA and Newco have finally released the Barclays WSL 2024/25 fixtures list.

The Gunners will be looking to win the title that has eluded them since 2018/19 and Joe Montemurro‘s success.

The opening game will be at home at the Emirates Stadium against Manchester City on Sunday 22 September at 12.30pm and the final game will also be at the Emirates Stadium against Manchester United.

Ticketing for the Home Advantage Pack and Home Advantage Pack + are still available.

As a reminder Arsenal will play eight League games at the Emirates Stadium and three at Meadow Park. It is also important to remember that games are subject to broadcaster’s choice and Arsenal are often chosen, which means it could be a Friday or Sunday evening game, a Saturday game or an early Sunday game.

Arsenal will compete with Chelsea and their new manager Sonia Bompastor as well as Manchester City for the title. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United who won’t play in the Champions League and Liverpool who were the strongest team outside of the top three can mount a title challenge.

Having the opening game against City when both teams will be potentially playing the UWCL qualifying round 2 before and after that game is just asking for them to fail. I really don’t understand why the FA purposely makes it harder for English teams to go far in the Champions League.

As early as the first FA WSL season back in 2011, they had scheduled the opener at Chelsea on an horrible pitch in between the WCL semi-finals against Lyon. Kim Little got injured on that pitch and missed out on the second leg and Arsenal went out of the tournament without their best player.
