England get their summer internationals underway on Monday night with a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina at 19:45 BST, with Gareth Southgate’s side also set to face Iceland later this week.

After that, there will be no more warm-up games before Euro 2024 kicks off. England’s first game at the tournament will be against Serbia on Sunday, June 16th at 20:00 BST.

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been called up by Southgate for the coming friendlies, included in his provisional squad for the Euros despite coming off injured against Manchester United and missing the final game against Everton.

Southgate’s latest update is that Saka won’t be involved against Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he could make his comeback later this week.

“[Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Anthony Gordon] are progressing well so we’re pleased with the progress they’ve made,” Southgate told a press conference.

“None of them will be involved (against Bosnia and Herzegovina). Same for Bukayo [Saka] and John Stones

“Bukayo is fine, is progressing well, but the periodisation we’ve taken from his injury is to rest and then he should be available for Friday.”

From the sounds of things, Southgate expects Saka to be fit and firing by the time the tournament gets underway, they’re just not going to take any risks in this opening friendly.

England face Iceland on Friday, June 7th at 19:45 BST at Wembley Stadium, and it looks like Saka could get a game that day before heading off to Germany for the main event.

Declan Rice and Aaron Ramsdale are both with the squad as well, and they’ll hope for some minutes this week too.
