Takehiro Tomiyasu was the only player not involved as Arsenal kicked off their training session on Tuesday, ahead of the trip to face Manchester United.
The injury news for Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s visit to Old Trafford is generally positive, though there were a couple of key updates from Tuesday’s training session.
For a start, Sky Sports report that Takehiro Tomiyasu didn’t come out with the rest of the group for the session, with his fitness status currently unclear.
Arsenal have been managing Tomiyasu carefully recently, but he’s still had a number of unexpected absences.
The other update is that Bukayo Saka is still in training following the cut to his leg against Bournemouth, but he’s training with leg strapping as a result of that injury.
It would be a blow to lose Tomiyasu for the United clash, with the Japan international having started in the last three wins over Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bournemouth.
But the good news is that Jurrien Timber remains in training and preparing for his first-team comeback, having already played a couple of games for the Arsenal u21s.
With every week that passes, the chances of Timber’s first senior game back grow, and he should be ready to step into the squad if Tomiyasu is unavailable.
Other than that, Arsenal still have a clean bill of health. There are players carrying minor knocks, but no one else should be out of Sunday’s game unless there are further setbacks in training.
