It’s funny to say this, because at the time of writing, Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League table. In every respect, they’ve had a perfect season, with fresh new talent sparking life into the team and the old dogs drastically refinding their form. But when it comes to this summer transfer window opening on 14th June, Arsenal desperately need it.

Not because they’re actually a bad team, but because they’re clearly a good one. With their recent successes in mind, they need a positive summer window with calculated transfers to level them up even further and push them ahead of rivals Man City.

Arsenal’s 2023/24 Premier League

While the top football odds from 18bet.com suggest that Arsenal will see out the rest of the season positively, anything can happen on the day, and it can’t be denied that Man City are having a tremendous fightback.

Although Arsenal got off to a good start in the 2023/24 season – and have managed to keep their momentum – Man City know how to close out tournaments, and right now, they’re only one point behind. They need certain fixtures to go their way of course, but in any case, they’re nipping at Arsenal’s heels, and that will be something that bugs the coaches and managers who have got Arsenal this far.

Like previous winners in the last few years, Arsenal deserve to have a healthy gap between first and second place. As it is, everything is still up in the air, which proves they’re pretty much level with Man City in terms of quality. In many ways, they need to knuckle down and push themselves even further for the 2024/25 season, ensuring that they’re well rewarded for a strong campaign, without everything resting on the last few games.

Potential Signings for Arsenal

This will largely come down to the summer transfer window. One of the first things they will be looking for is a strong centre-forward who can rally the team in midfield. While their current centre-forward is a great option for the club, there will be a strong desire for some more energy and – most importantly – more options for a centre-forward who can keep the goals coming.

The striker role is also going to be keenly contested over. Some strikers who have been linked with Arsenal include Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Alexander Isak, all of whom have good odds on arrival, and could provide that extra umph to make Arsenal’s attack even more dominating. When it comes to the midfield, we could be seeing Martin Zubimendi coming in, with the Spanish international being likened to Jorginho and Busquets, and Jorrel Hato has also been linked to the backfield.

This last potential signing is particularly interesting. According to reports, Arsenal have made Hato one of their top targets for this summer transfer window, but Ajax – his current club – have recently signed a deal without a release clause. With this in mind, it’s unclear how Hato could fit into the equation, but being a priority name on Arsenal’s list, we wouldn’t be surprised if they find a way.

A Summer Window That Counts

While we don’t know exactly how many – or which – signings will happen, it’s clear that this summer window is going to be incredibly important when it comes to Arsenal’s future. They’re a solid team right now, but with some extra starpower and some cunning tactical arrivals, they would have what they need to grow and find that extra level. This would mean that – even if they don’t win the Premier League this year – they would be clear favourites for next season.
