Arsenal Women are preparing for a busy summer, with a pre-season tour in Washington DC and the Champions League qualifiers on the horizon. The Gunners will face NWSL side Washington Spirit and WSL rivals Chelsea in August, providing valuable preparation for the upcoming season.

The club is also looking to strengthen its squad, with Barcelona attacker Mariona Caldentey and Aston Villa goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar identified as potential targets. Arsenal will be hoping to have these players on board by the time they participate in the Champions League qualifiers in early September.

Meanwhile, defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has been voted Arsenal Women’s Mastercard Player of the Season by fans. The Gunners’ academy graduate has had an outstanding season, solidifying the defence and contributing significantly to the team’s season.

“The noise we hear from them week-in and week-out, the songs, the chants – that would be enough for me,” Wubben-Moy said of the fans’ support. “Just knowing that I’m in their thoughts. Just knowing that I’m someone that they’re cheering for and I know all the other players feel that way as well.

“Their support is unrivalled, the best in the league and I don’t think you can even argue with that. I think that’s a fact now. So for them to have voted for me as Player of the Season, it means a lot. It really does.”

Wubben-Moy, a lifelong Gooner who made her senior debut at 16, has been a consistent and reliable presence on the pitch this season. Her performances are a testament to her dedication and hard work over the years.

“A lot of people have been saying that it’s finally my time and I think a lot of people that work with me day in and day out know that I will always give 100%,” she said. “I think this has been just waiting to happen, an accumulation of days that I’ve put into it.”

As Arsenal Women look ahead to a challenging but promising season, the pre-season tour and Wubben-Moy‘s recognition as Player of the Season serve as positive momentum for the team. The Gunners are determined to build on their recent successes and continue their growth as a top women’s football club.
