Arsenal have confirmed that goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese will leave the club when her contract expires at the end of the season.

Marckese’s time with the Gunners was hampered by limited playing opportunities and an unfortunate ACL injury during her loan spell at Bristol City.

Arsenal has announced the departure of goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese, whose contract expires at the end of the season. The American international joined the Gunners in 2022 from Danish side HB Koge, following impressive performances against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Marckese‘s time at Arsenal was brief, with only two appearances for the club before a loan spell at Bristol City this season. Unfortunately, her time at Bristol City was cut short due to an ACL injury sustained in November. Despite limited playing time, Marckese made a significant impact off the pitch, earning the title of Arsenal‘s PFA Community Champion for the 2022/23 season for her active involvement in community initiatives.

Marckese‘s departure follows the announcement of Sabrina D’Angelo‘s exit, leaving Arsenal with Manuela Zinsberger and 19-year-old Naomi Williams as their remaining goalkeeping options. Zinsberger, who recently signed a new contract in January, is expected to remain the first-choice goalkeeper.

While Marckese‘s time at Arsenal was short-lived, her dedication to the club and its community will be remembered. As she embarks on the next chapter of her career, the club and its fans wish her a speedy recovery and continued success.

Arsenal‘s focus now shifts to the summer transfer window, where they will certainly seek to strengthen their goalkeeping ranks to ensure adequate cover and competition for Zinsberger.
