Arsenal‘s young striker, Chido Martin Obi, is rapidly gaining recognition for his extraordinary goalscoring form. The 16-year-old has shattered records, scoring 28 goals in just 16 U18 Premier League appearances, including an astonishing 24 goals in his last seven.

Obi’s journey began at FC Copenhagen‘s youth system before his move to Arsenal at age 14. Sune Smith-Nielsen, FC Copenhagen’s development director, recalls Obi-Martin’s early talent: “He was a huge talent. He has been a huge talent since he was six years old. He played for periods two years up, and he has always had huge potential offensively. He has a wild technique and fantastic physical abilities.”

Smith-Nielsen also offered an open invitation for a potential return: “We are very pleased that he is doing so well at Arsenal. Then he can always get into FCK’s first team when Arsenal don’t give him the chance.”

Martin Obi is eligible to represent Denmark, England, and Nigeria internationally. He’s played for both Denmark and England at youth levels, currently representing Denmark’s U17 team. Reports suggest the English FA is keenly interested in securing his commitment.

Arsenal U18 manager Jack Wilshere has been full of praise for Obi-Martin’s recent form: “Of course, it helps when you have a goal scorer like Chido who is on fire at the moment, and everything he touches seems to go in.” He also credits the striker’s hard work and the support of his teammates.
