Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former Arsenal captain who currently plays for Olympique de Marseille, has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab.
Regardless of the club’s interest, after Aubameyang’s successful season the striker seems determined to continue his career in European football.
Speculation is rife about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s potential move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab. However, the former Arsenal captain appears uninterested in the offer, despite the club’s dissatisfaction with their current striker, Habib Diallo.
Aubameyang, who joined Marseille from Chelsea on a free transfer last summer, has enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions. His performance has attracted attention from several clubs, including those in Saudi Arabia.
However, despite the lucrative offer from Al-Shabab, Aubameyang reportedly prefers to stay in Europe and continue playing at a high level. This comes after his decision to reject offers from Saudi clubs last summer before joining Marseille on a contract until 2026.
Meanwhile, Al-Shabab is also considering other options, including Lyon‘s Alexandre Lacazette and former Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah.
Lacazette, the former Arsenal striker and Aubameyang partner, is taking some time this summer to decide on his future.
The 33-year-old scored 22 goals in the season just ended, with five assists, in 35 games and is under contract until next summer. However, there has been a lot speculation that the striker who has scored 182 goals for the French side during both his spells there will be on the move this summer.
