Reports link the Gunners with a move for RB Leipzig’s rising star Benjamin Sesko. Dubbed the ‘next Haaland’, the Slovenian striker is turning heads.

But is he the missing piece in Arteta’s attacking puzzle, and will Arsenal beat out their rivals for his signature?

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a summer move for RB Leipzig‘s Benjamin Sesko, the 20-year-old Slovenian striker drawing comparisons to goal machine Erling Haaland.

Sesko has impressed in his debut Bundesliga season, netting 14 goals in 38 appearances and demonstrating the potential to strengthen Arsenal’s attack.

Despite their potent goal-scoring form this season, Arsenal’s recent defeats against Aston Villa and Bayern Munich have underscored the need for an additional top-tier finisher.

Mikel Arteta clearly sees this as a summer priority, and Sesko’s profile fits the bill.

Sesko’s style and potential

Standing tall at 6ft 4in, Sesko offers a physical presence and aerial threat. He’s shown clinical finishing instincts, especially in his recent Bundesliga form that has seen him net three in his last three games.

His trajectory mirrors Haaland’s move from RB Salzburg to Leipzig, fuelling the hype around him at the minute.

However, Sesko has downplayed any comparison, emphasising his unique style and potential.

It’s worth noting that Sesko views Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a childhood idol.

The competition and cost

Arsenal face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for the highly-rated young striker. Sesko’s €50 million release clause makes the price clear and affordable, but a bidding war amongst Premier League giants could escalate that number.

While Sesko’s talent is undeniable, whether he’s the perfect fit for Arsenal remains open to debate. His potential to develop is enticing, but a young striker with a hefty price tag carries a degree of risk. Arsenal must weigh his upside against the immediate need for a more experienced, proven finisher to complement their current attacking options. The club’s ability to scout and attract alternative targets will be crucial.

Benjamin Sesko’s name is one to watch as the summer transfer window approaches. His impressive form and high ceiling will attract attention from top clubs. Arsenal’s pursuit depends on how aggressively they want to address their striking needs and whether they believe Sesko’s blend of power and potential is the solution to their quest for silverware.
