Arsenal fans hoping to land Alexander Isak this summer will be disappointed. Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has emphatically stated that the Swedish striker is not for sale.

Alexander Isak grabbed a brace of penalties in the weekend’s thrilling 4-3 victory over West Ham. This took his goal tally for the season to an impressive 18, emphasising his position as a key figure for the Magpies. He followed that up with another against Everton on Tuesday night.

Despite reported long-standing interest from the Gunners, Howe remains adamant: “He’s an outstanding talent and no one connected with Newcastle would want to lose him.”

Isak’s importance to Newcastle is amplified by the continued absence of Callum Wilson. Stepping seamlessly into the starting role, Isak has strung together five consecutive starts for club and country, demonstrating improved fitness.

Howe heaped praise on the 23-year-old, commending not only his penalty prowess but also his “general play, link play, and athleticism.” He’s confident Isak can be the cornerstone of their forward line, stating, “He can go on to achieve incredible things in his career.”

While Isak appears untouchable, the future of fellow striker Callum Wilson may be less certain. Mail Sport suggests that Wilson could be the one departing St. James’ Park to comply with financial regulations.

Howe also expressed his high hopes for two young midfielders. Elliot Anderson, sidelined with a back injury for a significant part of the season, impressed with a game-changing performance off the bench against West Ham. Howe believes Anderson can have a “breakthrough season” if he stays fit.

Another youngster flourishing under Howe is Lewis Hall, on loan from Chelsea with a permanent move in the works. Hall has repaid Howe’s faith with solid performances, including a strong display against Manchester City.

With Isak firing on all cylinders and a crop of talented youngsters emerging, Newcastle United appears to be building a team for the future, with Isak firmly at the centre of their plans.
