Lauren Fryer, the partner of Arsenal footballer Declan Rice, has removed all content from her Instagram account following a series of abusive messages from online trolls.
The couple, both aged 25, have been in a relationship for eight years and share a son named Jude.
The online bullying targeting Fryer escalated in December after comments surfaced suggesting Rice “could do better.” This led to an influx of negative messages directed at her on social media.
As a result, Fryer, who had over 70,000 followers on her Instagram, decided to delete all her pictures from the platform.
In response to the situation, Liberty Poole, a former contestant on the reality TV show “Love Island,” came to Fryer’s defence. Poole, who appeared on the 2022 series of “Love Island,” expressed her support on Instagram, condemning the beauty standards perpetuated by social media.
She emphasised the importance of celebrating diverse body types and the individual beauty of people, criticising the unrealistic beauty expectations that are often highlighted online.
Poole’s statement on Instagram read: “I think she’s beautiful this is crazy. What happened to celebrating different body types and embracing how we are all individually made. Beauty standards these days are unrealistic and everyone’s gone mad because of social media. I’m going to keep preaching about it till I die. Time for change, this can’t continue.”
