Reports suggest that the Gunners are targeting a pair of rising stars from Spain’s La Liga – Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

These potential signings could reshape the team and inject fresh energy into their title pursuit.

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a summer spending spree with their sights firmly set on two La Liga standouts, midfielder Martin Zubimendi and winger Nico Williams.

Why Zubimendi and Williams?

Zubimendi, a 25-year-old midfield anchor for Real Sociedad, has been a key figure in his club’s impressive rise in La Liga. His defensive ability and excellent distribution make him an attractive option to solidify Arsenal’s midfield – especially with Thomas Partey is expected to leave.

Nico Williams, the 21-year-old sensation at Athletic Club, offers electric pace and dribbling ability from the wing. His addition would complement Bukayo Saka brilliantly and offer much-needed depth in attack.

The financial considerations

Arsenal’s pursuit of these La Liga targets will likely require some squad reshuffling.

Generating funds through the sale of players like Emile Smith Rowe or Eddie Nketiah appears to be part of their strategy to meet the asking prices for Zubimendi and Williams.

Could the deals happen?

Arsenal’s ambition and financial means make them realistic suitors for both Zubimendi and Williams. However, they could face competition from other top European clubs.

Negotiations with Real Sociedad and Athletic Club promise to be complex. Arsenal’s willingness to sell key players to finance the transfers could be a deciding factor, as could the fees they are able to recoup.
