Thierry Henry knew Porto’s Wenderson Galeno was missing his Champions League penalty against Arsenal before it happened.
Arsenal played out a tense Champions League last-16 second leg against FC Porto on Tuesday night, winning 1-0 on the night to level the aggregate scoreline before taking the game on penalties.
Many Arsenal fans were nervously watching on during the shootout, with every kick a potential turning-point that could see the Gunners go on to win or lose.
But by the time Wenderson Galeno made contact with the ball for Porto’s final kick, club legend Thierry Henry had already stopped watching.
“At times, because I used to take [penalties], when you look at the face of someone, that can tell you a story,” Henry explained afterwards.
“He didn’t look composed, he didn’t look like he was going to score, so I left.
“We had to rush to come here (pitchside), and I walk slowly!”
For any doubters, CBS Sports provided the footage to prove Henry’s story.

Micah Richards can also be seen in the footage celebrating Arsenal’s winning penalty. The former Manchester City man has always been an Arsenal fan, thanks to another legendary Gunners striker Ian Wright.
So it was a great night for Richards and Henry, who must have enjoyed their night of Champions League punditry a bit more than usual.
