William Saliba believes Arsenal have learned from their first-leg defeat to FC Porto, and they’re ready to give everything to win the second.

Arsenal are set to face FC Porto on Tuesday night, with the Gunners looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit after the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash.

Initially, it looked like Arsenal were set to take a very respectable draw back from Porto to the Emirates Stadium, with the scores still level at 0-0 after 90 minutes.

But with Porto scoring in injury time, the complexion of the tie changed, and Arsenal now need a win in front of their own fans on Tuesday.

That’s not going to be an easy task, with Porto proving resolute defensively and showing they’re more than willing to bend the rules to wear down the clock.

At the weekend, Arsenal defender William Saliba answered a question on whether the Gunners have learned lessons from the away game.

“Yes,” Saliba responded. “We know they are smart and have experience. We have to compete with that and now we are ready.

“We have to win and we will give everything – we can’t wait to play.

“Sometimes it is good to suffer like this (against Brentford) and win at the end. That’s good, that’s football, that’s a different game, because we know we have the capacity to score at any moment.

“We didn’t give up — and that’s good from the team, because we couldn’t have an easy game.”

Arsenal have certainly gained some experience against teams sitting deep since the last Porto game, with pretty much every opponent setting out to frustrate the Gunners.

But there will be extra pressure on the players on Tuesday, and they’ll need to show they can handle that.
