Arsenal’s Reuell Walters is a late addition to the England u20 squad, joining the team ahead of their match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

At the start of the international break, only two Arsenal youth players were called up from the u18 to the u21 teams, Amario Cozier-Duberry (u19) and Brooke Norton-Cuffy (u21).

We highlighted that it was unusual to see Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Reuell Walters not involved, but two of the three have now been called up.

Nwaneri was first, with the youngster named in the England u17 squad for their Euro elite-round qualifiers.

Nwaneri linked up with a side taking on Hungary, Northern Ireland, and France this break, knowing a top-two finish in the group would secure qualification for the final tournament in May.

Walters has now joined him, with England confirming that they’ve called the defender up to their u20 squad as a replacement for the injured Ryan Andrews.

Though the announcement was made before England’s game against the Poland u20s on Friday afternoon, that match evidently came too soon for Walters to be involved.

Instead, Walters will make the squad on Tuesday, March 26th, as England face the Czech Republic at 14:00 GMT.

Lewis-Skelly doesn’t appear to be in line for a late call-up of his own, with the midfielder instead playing for an Arsenal XI against QPR in a behind-closed-doors friendly earlier this week.

The side contained just two first-team players, and they ended up losing 4-0.
