Napoli’s in-demand striker Victor Osimhen has the footballing world filled with speculation about his next move.

With Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United reportedly circling, could the Nigerian star be tempted by a move to England?

With a reported €130 million release clause, Osimhen‘s signature won’t come cheap. Yet, Arsenal appear determined, and fans believe he could be the final piece in their Premier League title puzzle.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis previously confirmed reports that the striker has a release clause, and that he’s wanted by a number of top clubs including Arsenal.

“Some players stay for many years, others are wanted by PSG, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea…” De Laurentiis said.

“It’s difficult to keep players when they are wanted by rich clubs.

“I can confirm there’s a release clause, a very high one.”

Others, meanwhile, are less convinced about a move to Manchester United, which has also been rumoured, with many questioning the wisdom of joining the Red Devils: “Who are the players he will play with, Anthony?” Umunna Bishop asked, highlighting United’s current struggles compared to table-topping Arsenal.

Even Gary Lineker sees the potential for Osimhen at Arsenal. “I think I’d look at it and I’d go, at the moment, Arsenal,” said Lineker on the Rest is Football Podcast. “I would say, Arsenal are probably a centre-forward away from winning things.”

Arsenal’s current form only strengthens this argument with Arteta’s men remain firmly in the title picture.

Of course, competition for Osimhen’s signature is fierce. French giants Paris Saint-Germain also reportedly have their eye on the striker.

Osimhen himself has hinted that his future is already decided, but won’t reveal it until the season’s end. “I already know the next step that I want to take, so for now, I just want to finish the season strong,” Osimhen said. “[Then] go and relax somewhere with my daughter, think about my life, and then finally come out with the decision I’ve already made.”

The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals, with four assists in 22 appearances this season. Since signing for Napoli from Lille in 20202 for €75m, Osimhen has scored 72 goals, with 18 assists, in 123 Napoli appearances.

He is currently valued at €110m and is under contract until 2026,earning around £211,000-per-week with bonuses of £42,000 on top after signing a new deal at the end of 2023.
