Linfield teenager Ceadach O’Neill is on the verge of a dream move to Premier League giants Arsenal at the end of the season.

The 15-year-old midfielder/forward has impressed scouts with his performances for Linfield’s academy and recently caught the eye playing for Arsenal’s U17s in Brazil.

O’Neill follows in the footsteps of teammate Braiden Graham (16), who will be joining Everton in the summer. Manager David Healy‘s commitment to youth development at Linfield has produced a conveyor belt of young talent attracting interest from top English clubs.

O’Neill’s first-team debut for Linfield in November showcased his potential, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Several Premier League clubs tracked him, but Arsenal seems to have won the race for his signature.

This move mirrors the success stories of former Linfield youngsters like Paul Smyth, Dale Taylor, Trai Hume, and Callum Marshall, who all secured moves to English clubs and went on to represent Northern Ireland. Another Linfield academy product, Ross McCausland, currently plays for Rangers.

O’Neill’s experience with the Arsenal U17s in Brazil last year clearly made a positive impression. He is currently with the Northern Ireland U17 squad competing in the Euro 2024 Elite round qualifiers, but his future seems bright with a potential move to Arsenal on the horizon.
