Contrary to reports earlier in the break, Erling Haaland is not injured, and he looks set to be fully fit when Manchester City host Arsenal.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland drew some attention early in the March international break when multiple media outlets reported that he’d limped out of a Norway training session.
The footage did show Haaland briefly limping after a challenge, but it didn’t show any evidence that the striker had actually left training.
Speaking afterwards, Haaland himself pointed that fact out.
“I didn’t walk off the training, I don’t know who wrote that,” Haaland said.
“I training the full training and I’m feeling good and ready to play the game (against the Czech Republic).”
Haaland was indeed fit to start against the Czech Republic, playing 75 minutes of the friendly for Norway.
The Manchester City striker did miss two big chances, one of them created by Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, but he mostly appeared to be his usual self in the match. You can watch the highlights here.
Norway now face Slovakia in another friendly on Tuesday, and assuming the 23-year-old comes through that match without any problems, he’ll be available for Manchester City against Arsenal on March 31st.
City face Arsenal in a Premier League top-of-the-table clash next week on Sunday.
The Gunners currently lead the standings, with City sitting third, but Liverpool are in action first and could take top spot before the match at the Etihad Stadium kicks off.
As it stands, City aren’t set to have any injuries, with Ederson the only genuine doubt but Pep Guardiola hopeful the goalkeeper will be back in time.
