On Monday morning, the Premier League confirming that they’re inducting Ashley Cole into their Hall of Fame.

Cole played Premier League football for Arsenal for seven years, having broken through the club’s academy system. The left-back then played for Chelsea for eight years, before moving abroad for most of the tail end of his career.

During his time with Arsenal, Cole won two Premier League titles and was included in the PFA Team of the Year three times from 2002/03 to 2004/05.

Cole won one further league title with Chelsea, making the PFA Team of the Year once in 2010/11.

Of his Arsenal spell, Cole said: “Being a boyhood Arsenal fan, I was living out a dream just pulling on the shirt and playing for the first team.

“Playing in front of amazing fans so close to the pitch at Highbury, so intimate and for me one of the most beautiful stadiums.

“Winning my first Premier League title was certainly special. To lift that trophy in front of my friends and family and celebrate with your teammates after a gruelling 38-game season is amazing.

“That feeling is hard to explain. Growing up, all I knew was loving Arsenal Football Club.”

As well as Cole’s induction, two Arsenal players are in the vote for the next stars to be included.

Like Cole, Sol Campbell and Cesc Fabregas both represented multiple London clubs in the Premier League.

Campbell played for Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, winning two league titles and making the PFA Team of the Year three times. He also played for Portsmouth and Newcastle United later in his career.

Fabregas played for Arsenal and Chelsea, winning the Premier League twice and making the Team of the Year twice. Ironically, his two league titles were at Chelsea, but his two Team of the Year inclusions were with Arsenal in 2007/08 and 2009/10.
