Two of Arsenal’s Brazilians have been called up for the March international break, but Gabriel Jesus has been left out.

Brazil confirmed their squad for the upcoming international break on Friday, with Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli both featuring in the list.

Gabriel Jesus hasn’t been named, amid his recent struggles with a knee injury.

Jesus returned to the bench against Newcastle United last weekend, but he hasn’t played a minute of football since the start of February.

But it’s not impossible we might still see a late change to the Brazil squad.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison has been named in the Brazil squad for now, but Ange Postecoglou confirmed on Friday that the forward is out for the next three to four weeks with a knee injury of his own.

If Richarlison isn’t ready for a comeback in time for Brazil’s fixtures on March 23rd and 26th, and if Jesus reintegrates with Arsenal in the meantime, perhaps Brazil could swap the two.

If not, Jesus will get a much-needed break between Arsenal’s Champions League last-16 second leg against FC Porto on March 12th and the game away to Manchester City on March 31st.

As for the other two, both seemed very pleased to be involved with Brazil once again.

Gabriel Magalhaes said on Instagram: “Thank God for another opportunity to represent the greatest team in the world.”

Whilst Gabriel Martinelli wrote on Twitter: “Fulfilled by once again having the chance to wear the heaviest shirt in history.”

Brazil face England on March 23rd at 19:00 GMT, then Spain on March 26th at 20:30 GMT, with both games taking place away from home.

That’s good news from an Arsenal perspective, as the two players will only need to travel to Wembley Stadium and the Santiago Bernabeu, not a different continent.
