“I think it’s massive,” Alessia Russo said after scoring the match-winning goal for Arsenal.

“Us as players love to play in front of as many people as possible and here at Arsenal it feels like everyone is really on board with us and the fact that they come out consistently doesn’t feel weird for it to be a sell-out anymore because that’s just how incredible the fans are and they show up every single week, so it’s massive for women’s football and we’re really paving the way.”

The full-capacity Emirates Stadium provided an electrifying backdrop for the intense showdown between Arsenal and Tottenham, which saw noteworthy performances from Kim Little and Beth Mead.

Manager Jonas Eidevall reflects on building a home for fans

Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall expressed his admiration for the record-breaking crowd, stating: “I think we’re creating an environment here where people want to belong and they’re a massive part of doing that, and the team is a massive part of doing that. The club is another part so that’s just beautiful to see and be a little part of.

“Yeah, let’s keep doing that. We have one more game at Emirates left and there is a lot of time, that game is in April. Buy tickets. I think that’s going to sell out.”
