Arsenal’s Premier League rivals now all know who they’re facing in the next round of European competition, following Friday’s draws.
On Friday morning, Arsenal learned that they’ll face Bayern Munich in the upcoming Champions League quarter-finals, but the Gunners aren’t the only Premier League side still in Europe.
Let’s take a look at each team, their opponents, and what that does for their fixture list.
Manchester City
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side will take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, with the winner of their tie taking on the winner of Arsenal’s clash with Bayern in the semis.
- April 6th – Crystal Palace vs Manchester City
- April 9th/10th – Real Madrid vs Manchester City
- April 13th – Manchester City vs Luton Town
- April 16th/17th – Manchester City vs Real Madrid
- April 20th – Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City (could be moved for a potential City FA Cup semi-final)
Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been drawn against Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-finals. Given the Europa League games are always on Thursdays, there’s less uncertainty about their schedule.
- April 7th – Manchester United vs Liverpool
- April 11th – Liverpool vs Atalanta
- April 14th – Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
- April 18th – Atalanta vs Liverpool
- April 21st – Fulham vs Liverpool (could be moved for a potential Liverpool FA Cup semi-final)
Aston Villa
Aston Villa have been drawn against Lille in the Europa Conference League, with their fixture noteworthy for Arsenal fans as it’s either side of their clash with the Gunners.
- April 6th – Aston Villa vs Brentford
- April 11th – Aston Villa vs Lille
- April 14th* – Arsenal vs Aston Villa
- April 18th – Lille vs Aston Villa
- April 21st – Aston Villa vs Bournemouth
*Aston Villa’s progression to the quarter-finals likely means the Arsenal game, currently scheduled for Saturday 13th, will be moved to Sunday 14th. The Premier League strongly suggested this in their initial post on the TV selections.
West Ham United
West Ham United have drawn Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League, but their schedule makes it unlikely this will have any impact on Arsenal.
They don’t face Arsenal or any of the Gunners’ title rivals around their quarter-final match.
- April 6th – Wolves vs West Ham
- April 11th – Leverkusen vs West Ham
- April 14th – West Ham vs Fulham
- April 18th – West Ham vs Leverkusen
- April 21st – Crystal Palace vs West Ham
Brighton and Hove Albion
Brighton’s elimination from the Europa League by AS Roma means they won’t be playing in the quarter-finals, which is noteworthy as they play Arsenal at home on April 6th, the weekend before the quarter-final first-leg matches.
Arsenal will be preparing for a match against Bayern Munich, whilst Brighton will be fully focused on Arsenal alone.
