Arsenal’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Amario Cozier-Duberry are the only two young Gunners called up for the England youth teams in March.

The Arsenal academy generally send a substantial number of players away on England youth duty during each international break, with the exact number tending to fall somewhere between five and 10.

But this time around, that’s not the case, with Friday’s list of England u18, u19, u20, and u21 call-ups containing very few Arsenal representatives.

In the u21 squad, only Brooke Norton-Cuffy (on loan at Millwall) has been called up. Charlie Patino would usually be involved, but he hasn’t been named on this occasion, after dropping into a substitute role with Swansea City lately.

Arsenal haven’t received any England u20 call-ups, which means we move to the u19s for our next Arsenal player, Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The post on the England website also lists Lino Sousa as an Arsenal player, but that’s not the case, as Sousa joined Aston Villa in January.

In the u18s, once again, there are no Arsenal call-ups.

It’s surprising not to see Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly involved at any level, and Reuell Walters is another miss. The fact that none of the three have been playing particularly regular football lately is perhaps behind the decision.

If all three were playing regularly, you’d expect them all to be involved. Even so, it’s a little concerning to see so little recognition for Arsenal’s English youngsters this month.
