Takehiro Tomiyasu’s new contract with Arsenal is already done, with talks over a new deal for Ben White also at an advanced stage.
Fabrizio Romano reports in his Daily Briefing that Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract extension with Arsenal is done, and the player is “100%” signing a new deal.
The only delay now is in finding the right moment for the formalities of the actual signing and announcement, but the deal is agreed.
Romano reports that various Italian clubs have shown an interest in Tomiyasu, but Mikel Arteta was always keen to keep the defender around.
As for Tomiyasu’s right-back rival Ben White, Romano reports that the deal isn’t done yet, but it’s at a very advanced stage.
Talks have reportedly been ongoing since October, and they’re going well. A positive conclusion is expected in the coming weeks or months.
With Jurrien Timber also slowly edging towards a comeback, and Reuell Walters impressing for the academy, Arsenal look very well set for the next few years at right-back.
Arsenal won’t relax until all the new deals are signed and submitted, but it looks like everything is going in the right direction now.
