Arsenal put in a dominant performance against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday, and it’s no surprise to see that reflected by a number of individuals making it into the most recent Teams of the Week.

The BBC’s Garth Crooks selected William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka for his side.

On Saliba, Crooks wrote that “the Gunners were as strong in defence as they were in attack” and “Saliba was at the heart of this impressive defensive display”.

Crooks justified Gabriel’s second consecutive appearance in his Team of the Week by stating that the defender was “just as impressive” against West Ham as he was against Liverpool.

The BBC pundit believes Gabriel “is looking impressively commanding and far less likely to give a penalty away or silly free-kicks on the edge of his own box”, adding that he’s “forged a formidable defensive partnership with William Saliba”.

Crooks was also complimentary of Rice, saying that he “has grown as a player since his arrival at Arsenal…he’s certainly playing for a better side and with better players, but he has acquired a confidence and authority that comes with it”.

Finally, on Saka, Crooks wrote that he’s “not only become one of the best players in the country, he’s Arsenal’s most consistent goalscorer”.

WhoScored also selected Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, and Saka for their Team of the Week, but they included Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard as well.

For Odegaard, WhoScored’s Sam Hammond explained that the midfielder “provided two assists from seven key passes and completed one successful dribble, while he also maintained a pass success rate of 94.8%”.

As for Trossard, Hammond highlighted Trossard’s second goal in two games, as well as his two tackles and three successful dribbles.

In all, it was appropriate that Arsenal had six players in the Team of the Week, one for each goal at the London Stadium.
