FC Copenhagen have been actively searching for a goalkeeper to provide backup for Kamil Grabara, who is expected to move on to Wolfsburg in the summer.

According to Danish outlet bold.dk, they have found their target in Arsenal’s Runarsson.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Cardiff City, but as reported earlier, that loan will be terminated early, paving the way for his move to Denmark.

This switch represents a homecoming for Runarsson, who previously played for FC Nordsjælland between 2014 and 2018, making 62 appearances.

Runarsson only managed six first-team appearances for Arsenal since joining in 2020, leaving his spell at the club largely forgettable.

His current Arsenal contract runs for another six months, but a mutual termination is expected to facilitate his free transfer to Copenhagen.
