Arthur Okonkwo will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet after another strong performance and a penalty save for Wrexham on Saturday.

Arsenal’s Arthur Okonkwo has generally had a very positive spell on loan with Wrexham, and Saturday’s match against Bradford City looked like being another good one for the goalkeeper.

Okonkwo made seven saves in the match, most notably keeping the away side out from the penalty spot.

With just under 10 minutes to go, a Bradford City man was hauled down in the area, but Okonkwo stood firm to deny Andy Cook from the spot with his legs.

Just when it looked like Okonkwo was set to leave with a clean sheet, Cook found himself through on goal once again.

Like before, Okonkwo spread himself to make another save with his legs. But this time Cook wasn’t to be denied, and he headed in the rebound past the goalkeeper’s outstretched arms.

Okonkwo has kept 10 clean sheets in 23 games on loan, and Wrexham remain in the hunt for promotion despite this latest setback.

The team sit fifth in League Two after 29 games, with games in hand on all four of the teams above them and only two points between themselves and the nearest automatic promotion place.
