Vivianne Miedema was not included in the Arsenal squad for their game against Manchester City in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.

The forward, who has recently returned from an ACL injury, is suffering from ‘knee irritation‘ according to the BBC’s Emma Sanders.

Sanders added, “Arsenal are hopeful she will be back for Wednesday’s League Cup quarter-final or on Saturday for the WSL match against Manchester United.”

Before kick-off, Eidevall was asked about the problem and said, “She has a slight irritation to the knee, so we have to be precautious. Unfortunately she cannot take part, but hopefully she will return soon.”

Asked about Sabrina D’Angelo replacing Manuela Zinsberger in goal, Eidevall said, “”Every game is new for us, we have two really good goalkeepers with both Sabrina and Manuela. It is tough competition and I think Sabrina has some great qualities to fit for this game.”

Should the game finish as a draw, there will be extra time and penalties with no replay.

The Arsenal team that will face City is:

D’Angelo, Fox, Wubben-Moy, Williamson, Mead, Maanum, McCabe, Foord, Pelova, Russo, Cooney-Cross.

The subs include: Zinsberger, Williams, Catley, Codina, Walti, Little, Lacasse, Blackstenius.

Mancheter City’s starting XI: Keting, Casparij, Aleixandri, Greenwood, Ouahabi, Hasegawa, Coombs, Kelly, Park, Hemp, Shaw.

Manchester City bench: Stokes, Fowler, Angeldahl, Morgan, MacIver, Mace, Kennedy.

Tottenham have already qualified for the next round after a tight 1-0 win over Charlton while Leicester hit six past Birmingham.
