Manchester United’s Luke Shaw has admitted that everyone likes Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, despite their club rivalries.

Luke Shaw and Bukayo Saka might be rivals with their clubs sides, but the Manchester United left-back is clearly a big fan of his Arsenal rival outside of those fixtures.

The pair regularly link up for England duty, and when Sky Sports asked Shaw to name the player he most looks forward to seeing during those international breaks, the defender didn’t hesitate.

“It’s easy, yeah, it’s Saks (Bukayo Saka),” Shaw said. “I think if you ask everyone that question from England, I think everyone would say the same thing.”

“He’s just the best guy ever, and you know, I love him, so I had to pick him,” Shaw added.

“You just can’t not like him, he makes everyone smile, he makes everyone happy. He’s funny. Everything about him, he’s brilliant.

“I think his parents have obviously done a very good job of raising someone like that, because I think honestly he’s one of the best people in football.”

The two players will probably face off quite a few more times as the years go by, with Saka tied down for the long term playing on Arsenal’s right wing, and left-back Shaw on a long-term deal of his own at United.

But they’re also likely to play plenty more games on the same team, every time the international breaks come around.

It won’t be long now before their next opportunity, with England playing a pre-Euros friendly against Brazil on March 23rd.
