Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Manager of the Month for January, while newcomer Emily Fox is in contention for the Player of the Month award, highlighting a successful month for the club.

Arsenal’s impact in the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) has been recognised with Jonas Eidevall being nominated for the Manager of the Month award for January, and Emily Fox being shortlisted for the Player of the Month accolade.

Eidevall, who previously clinched the award in November, has once again shown his tactical prowess, guiding Arsenal through significant victories against Everton and Liverpool in the league. These wins have been crucial in keeping the team competitive at the top of the table, alongside Manchester City and Chelsea.

Under his stewardship, Arsenal also secured big wins in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup against Watford and in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup against Reading, further asserting their dominance across competitions.

Emily Fox, Arsenal’s new signing, has made an immediate impact since her debut. She featured in Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 Adobe Women’s FA Cup victory over Watford and played a pivotal role in both WSL matches in January. Notably, her assist in the 60th minute against Liverpool helped Vivianne Miedema score, contributing to the 2-0 win away from home.

Fox’s nomination is a testament to her swift adaptation and contribution to the team, marking her as a significant addition to the Gunners’ squad.

Fox faces stiff competition for the Player of the Month award from Laia Aleixandri and Khadija Shaw of Manchester City, Vivianne Asseyi of West Ham United, Janice Cayman of Leicester City, and Lauren James of Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Eidevall’s contenders for the managerial accolade include Emma Hayes of Chelsea and Gareth Taylor of Manchester City.
