Kai Havertz believes that Arsenal are a connected club at the moment, with the men, women, and academy players all pushing each other.

Arsenal have had a great weekend on many fronts, with strong results from all of their key sides.

The Arsenal u21s got things off to a good start on Friday, beating Southampton 4-2 thanks to goals from returning loanee Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Osman Kamara, Ismail Oulad M’Hand, and Jimi Gower.

That win puts the young Gunners third in the Premier League 2 table, with a game in hand on second-place side West Ham United.

Next, the Arsenal Women defeated Manchester United 3-1 in front of a sold-out Emirates Stadium, with Cloe Lacasse and Kim Little getting on the scoresheet to add to a United own goal.

Finally, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side thrashed Burnley 5-0 to put the pressure on at the top of the Premier League table.

Kai Havertz scored the fifth goal in that win, and after the game he suggested there’s a good connection between all the different Arsenal sides.

“It’s amazing,” Havertz said. “We are all together, us, the ladies, the youth so there is a good connection and a good dynamic. We try to push each other every day.

“We are in a good moment, we have won all of the games so far (in 2024) so it feels good.

“Behind that was hard work and there are many hard games to come. We have to continue the hard work.”

Even a few of the games not involving the Gunnres went their way at the weekend.

Manchester City Women defeated Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea, whilst Chelsea’s men’s team took points off Manchester City in the Premier League.

Both of those results brought Arsenal a little bit closer to top spot, with Manchester City no longer able to overtake current Premier League leaders Liverpool in their game in hand.

For Havertz, the focus now turns to the Champions Legaue, with Arsenal travelling to Porto on Wednesday.
