Arsenal have at least four strikers on their shortlist of summer transfer options, and they’re scouting one of them on Thursday night.

Sami Mokbel reports for the Daily Mail that Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee, and Viktor Gyokeres are all among the forwards Arsenal have looked at ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mokbel writes that Gabriel Jesus’ injury concerns are a factor behind the club’s move to sign a new centre-forward this summer, and the four players above are all potential targets.

A Bola report that Arsenal will be scouting one of those four on Thursday night, as their representatives watch Sporting CP’s match against Benfica.

Sporting face Benfica in the Portuguese domestic cup at 20:45 GMT on Thursday, February 29th, with Gyokeres likely to be involved.

The cup semi-final will be a great opportunity to see how the striker handles pressure, as there can be no doubts about his performances for Sporting in general this season.

Gyokeres has 30 goals and 11 assists in 33 games for Sporting ahead of the semi-final, and his move from Championship side Coventry City is proving a masterstroke.

Things almost played out very differently for the striker, who was in the Championship play-offs with Coventry last season.

The team made it all the way to a penalty shootout in the final. But they lost, and Gyokeres decided to make his step up to a top-flight league without them.

There’s no doubt that Gyokeres has taken his game to a new level this season, and he’s come a long way since his cup appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion back in 2018/19 and 2020/21.

Perhaps a move to the Premier League could be the next step for the Swedish international.
