Arsenal won 5-0 against Burnley at the weekend, following up their 6-0 victory over West Ham United in a very impressive fashion. The fact that both games were away from home made the results even better.

Six Arsenal players had made it into the various Teams of the Week for the West Ham win, and the Burnley victory didn’t quite match that figure. But four members of Mikel Arteta’s side did crop up in the post-matchday assessments.

Starting with Alan Shearer’s official Team of the Week for the Premier League website, Jakub Kiwior, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard all featured.

Shearer wrote that Kiwior put in his “best display of the season”, adding that the defender “is really coming into his own at left-back”.

On Saka, Shearer wrote that the winger “looks full of confidence…unstoppable and he scored another brace”.

Whilst on Odegaard, he wrote that the midfielder provided an “excellent finish to give Arsenal the lead”, concluding that the Gunners captain “was simply outstanding”.

Finally, Shearer also included Mikel Arteta as his manager of the week praising Arsenal’s turnaround and their “stunning performance away from home”.

Garth Crooks also included Odegaard and Saka in his Team of the Week for the BBC.

Crooks wrote that Burnley got what they deserved for giving Odegaard time and space, praising the midfielder for his “lovely assist for Bukayo Saka’s second goal” and for just generally running the show.

As for Saka, Crooks suggested the winger’s second goal was so emphatic it was as if “he was thoroughly bored with the mismatch and couldn’t wait to get the game over and done with”.

Lastly, the WhoScored Team of the Week also had a spot for Odegaard, giving him a clean sweep across the board. But WhoScored’s other Arsenal pick was Kai Havertz, with the Gunners pair earning 9.13 and 8.57 ratings respectively.

On Odegaard, WhoScored’s Sam Hammond wrote that the Gunners captain had received his second consecutive 9+ rating primarily for his goal, assist, three key passes, and one successful dribble.

As for Havertz, the summer signing earned praise for winning eight aerial duels and making one key pass, as well as scoring the team’s fifth goal.

Plenty of players in Arteta’s side are currently earning a lot of praise for their performances, and with big games against FC Porto and Newcastle United coming up, they’ll all be looking to keep that going.
