Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-1 and that win combined with City getting the better of Chelsea at Kingsmeadow means the Gunners have found a way back in the title race.

Following a gloomy week with defeats to West Ham and Manchester City, there is a feelgood feeling that Arsenal are back. Chelsea now lead the table with 34 points and a +28 goal difference. Manchester City are level on points and goal difference but have scored fewer goals. Then come the Arsenal, three points behind those teams, but with only a +18 goal difference.

It means, should we be level on points with one of these teams, we would be behind on goal difference.

Arsenal play Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge on Friday 15th April and City away on the weekend of 5th May. To put it simply, due to that goal difference problem, Arsenal will need to win both games to be in a shout for the title.

The club is certainly in a much healthier position than a week ago when we were looking at a third place battle with Manchester United. Full credit to the coaching staff and the players to have turned things round so quickly.

The next league game will take place after the international break. It will be the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday 3rd March at 12.30pm.

There is a question mark about the squad size on the day, because of injuries and international call-ups.

Arsenal should also have three players missing as they will be at the Gold Cup: Chloe Lacasse and Sabrina D’Angelo with Canada, alongside Emily Fox with the USA.
