Leah Williamson rejoins Lionesses after ACL recovery alongside US call-up for Emily Fox and Canadian berths for Cloe Lacasse and Sabrina D’Angelo.

Lionesses captain, Leah Williamson, has made a remarkable comeback after a 10-month absence due to a ruptured ACL, rejoining Sarina Wiegman’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Austria and Italy.

Williamson’s injury, sustained last April, forced her to miss the heart-breaking World Cup final defeat to Spain. But after successfully battling back to fitness, she’s earned a well-deserved recall, having shown promising form in recent Arsenal matches.

Joining Williamson on the international stage is January signing, Emily Fox, who earned a call-up to the US Women’s National Team for the inaugural CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup. The defender, who impressed immediately after arriving at the Emirates, will be aiming to make her mark on the international stage.

Meanwhile, there’s double Canadian joy for Arsenal duo Cloe Lacasse and Sabrina D’Angelo, who secured spots in Bev Priestman’s squad for the same tournament.
